Learning about your family history is very exciting, but also very time consuming and often quite frustrating. We have over 30 years combined experience using tools, resources and methods that will allow us to introduce you to relatives you never knew existed. Our detectives have unearthed and proven connections to ancestors and documents dating back over 1,500 years.
Genealogy is our passion, and we want to share it with you! While we are experts at finding out names, dates, places and other basic statistics, we love to dig deeper and help you actually get to know your ancestors. We will search for vital records, photos, news articles, ships’ registers, tax bills and many other types of clues that will tell you not just when and where they lived, but how they lived, and maybe even unearth some famous ancestors.
Discovering your own roots is one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself. But, with a little help from Family Tree Detectives, the reward can be far greater than just personal fulfillment. Imagine calling a cousin you haven’t seen in years and telling them, “Hey, did you know that we have an ancestor who… (fought at Gettysburg, was a U.S. Senator, came over on The Mayflower, etc…)?” Even if there is no “famous” relative in your tree, just being able to share the information you gain with your family is a priceless gift; a gift that will bring joy and satisfaction today and for future generations. Also, there are a number of organizations such as The Society of Mayflower Descendants and Daughters of the American Revolution who provide scholarships to students who can trace their past to certain places or events. While there is no guarantee we will be able to make this connection for you, we certainly know how and where to look.
